What is a Being?
God: "the creator and ruler of the universe; Supreme Being. ... " (560 Webster) What an outrageous being. ... The first of these is the teleological argument: "starts from a contingent premises that involves more specific features of the universe, features which in one way or another suggest that the universe has been designed by a conscious and intelligent being." (89 Routledge) The next is cosmological argument: "a first uncaused cause, a first unmoved mover, and necessary being. ...
Therefore, if that, than which nothing greater can be conceived, exists in the understanding alone, the very being, than which nothing greater can be conceived is one, than which a greater can be conceived. ... Hence, there is no doubt that there exists a being, than which nothing greater can be conceived, and it exists both in the understanding and in reality. ... To say that in order for something to be the most perfect being it must exist visibly seems unintelligent to me. ...
God is the greatest possible being. Being that God is omnipotent, omniscient, and omnipresent. ... That is to assume that our reality is the ideal state of being. ... But for the sake of the argument God the most perfect being must exist here in our reality.
