“I came into this world for judgment so that those who do not see may see, and those who do see may become blind” (John 9, 39). Jesus spoke these words after he healed a man who was born without sight. Many times throughout his life, Jesus used miracles to powerfully support his teachings. ... Jesus rose from the dead so his followers would have everlasting life (John 20, 1-10). ...
The miracle alluded to in the opening paragraph occurred after a discussion Jesus had with his disciples. They had asked Jesus about the blind man. ... Jesus surprised them saying, “Neither this man nor his parents sinned; he was born blind so that God’s works might be revealed in him” (John 9, 1-12). The blind man literally could not see, but more importantly people did not see Jesus as the “light of the world” (John 9, 5).
