Greek Mythology
Zeus was one of the six siblings to divide the power of the world. He is the ultimate ruler. Zeus king and the father of the heavens after he defeated his father Cronus. As the king he was given the most powerful weapons devised by his allies the Cyclops. He had a thunderbolt so that he could control his often rebellious family from Olympus. Zeus could change into anything animal, human, vegetable, and mineral but could rarely trick other gods with these disguises. He used them mostly on humans especially women he wanted to seduce. But this could be his down fall if this pursuit of women carried on. Zeus's mother Rhea said that he should get married. But like most people with power, he didn't want to be told what to do and punished his mother by turning into a snake and strangling her. He did finally marry though, his own sister, Hera but both lived to regret the marriage. Zeus was always unfaithful too his wife. This bothered Hera but since he had a thunderbolt and she could be disposed of by Zeus at any given time. So she accepted his deceptions. So instead of complaining about his faults to him, she rebelled against him and tried to overthrow Zeus. But this did not work for there were to many gods that were on Zeuss side. Hera was punished for her treachery and she was hung by her wrists. And anvils were put on both feet. But besides ruling his family Zeus kept the stars and planets in order, made laws, enforced oaths, and pronounced oracles. Zeus however was not all powerful and this disturbed him tremendously since he himself had over thrown his father. He didn't want that to happen to him.
