Basis Of Catholicism
Many different religions have a lasting influence on people's lives. When you hear religion, you think of the dominating ones such as Islam and Buddhism. But what you don't hear much of is Catholicism, which has had a very profound affect in changing the lives of many over hundreds of years for the better. Catholicism spreads the word of God and allows people to become spiritually one with the lord. From the inspirational immaculate conception of Mary, to the final staging of purgatory and to the teachings of the holy sacraments, these are three primary sections that gave the purpose and the reason for establishing a Holy Bible. The spread of Catholicism has flourished throughout the world gaining renowned recognition that it has always deserved.
Mary was a wondrous woman that received an amazing gift from God. She was blessed with the dismissal of her original sin. Such doing was known as the Immaculate Conception. Mary had no trace of sin throughout her life (Schreck 361). Although she was freed from original sin, which aided her in living a sinless life, it was not guaranteed (Schreck 362). God showed her the path of a sinless and perfect life, but it was up to her to follow it. Salvation was entered through Mary, by her faith and perfect obedience to God and his will (Schreck 362). Some wonder why the Lord made Mary sinless. The Catholic doctrine states that God took away her original sin to prepare her for bearing his son, Jesus (Britannica 387). Mary was the sole natural parent of Jesus.
God favored Mary for role in his plan for the birth of his son. He freed only her from original sin while still in the womb of her mother, Anne (Schreck 361). Eve was the only other person he ever freed from original sin but she succumbed to the temptation of Satin and Mary was now taking the place of Eve (Schreck 361).
