Siddhartha Gautama (The buddah) was born in Kapilavastu near the Indian-Nepal border. He was the son of of a petty kingdom. The legend says at his birth the sages recognized him. They said the marks of a great man of potential to become a sage or,a ruler of a great empire. He was raised in a sheltered luxury until age 29. That's when he realized his life was empty till this point. He embarked on a journey for peace and enlightment seeking to release from the cycle of rebirth.
