Abraham Uniting World Religions
Abraham was a very important figure in the history of the world. He had a very historic life, and is important to life itself. Abraham had great roles in the Jewish, Christian, and Islamic faiths. Only one of these faiths gives a true account of Abraham's life. There is also controversy about whether Abraham can be used as a rallying point for these three religions or not. This essay will explain Abraham's roles in the Jewish, Christian and Islam faiths. It will also explain what faith gives the true account of Abraham's life, and whether or not Abraham can be used as a rallying point for all of these religions.
The Jewish story has great importance to history. This story shows how Abraham was the first person to give up everything he believed in, in order to follow the Lord. He went as deep as you can possibly go into a decision like this. Abraham had a lot of faith in what he believed. He showed this faith when he first left his home. He packed up everything and left to Canaan. Also, Abraham had faith when God told him that he would have an heir. Even though Sara gave up, Abraham's faith endured, and sure enough, his 75 year old wife conceived a child and they named him Isaac. Abraham's faith was put to the test when God told him to sacrifice his own son Isaac. God stopped Abraham right before he killed him. All in all, the Jewish story shows Abraham's courage very well.
The Christian account shows how Abraham's faith led to all the believers in God. All of the things that happened in Abraham's life showed how people needed to be faithful to God. Also, The Christian account of Abraham's story showed that you no longer needed to be Jewish to believe in God. Instead of the burdens of sin being on the people, the burdens of sin were laid on Christ. Also, the burdens being laid on Christ showed how one needs faith.
