The Merits of Affirmative Action

This reaction paper deals with the issue of affirmative action. Affirmative action is a very controversial issue in today’s society. Many supporters view affirmative action as a milestone, many opponents see it as an insult to society, and other people regard it as neither. Affirmative Action is not only seen in the job market in the United States, in fact affirmative action has become a major issue on college acceptance also. Affirmative Action like every controversial issue definitely has it’s pro’s and con’s, and it’s supporters and opposers. In this paper the reader will hear both sides of the affirmative action argument, and then read my personal feelings on affirmative action.
People who oppose affirmative action say that, supporting affirmative action means support for selection procedures that favor unqualified candidates over qualified candidates just because of skin color.
