A Coward with No Conscience

The most selfish thing that a person can do to another is commit suicide. Not only do you leave all the ones you care about but you also put the ones you care about in a tough position. John Proctor, a Puritan man, decides that if he should die then so should his wife and two sons. Can any person of right mind; really think that to commit suicide and destroy your family in the process is the right thing to do? 10 years ago today, the witchcraft hysteria plagued the town of Salem, Massachusetts. Many “witches” were prosecuted and killed, but now all of their names have been cleared from any wrongdoing. John Proctor finds himself in the mess of all this when he clamors out that he to was a witch, to help get the attention of his wife Elizabeth. He was then forced with the choice of admitting to his witchcraft and damaging his good name, or he could sign away his name but still be with the wife and sons that love him till the end of time.
