Can you remember back to the year 1970? This was the year the U.S. was supposed to make history by landing the first man on the moon. Two days after launch, while Apollo 13 was approaching the moon to begin lunar operations, something exploded on the ship. The crew had to overcome many life-threatening obstacles while on the trip back to earth. NASA discovered what caused the explosion on Apollo 13 after the crew was safe back on earth. “The Apollo 13 capsule was launched atop a Saturn V rocket on April 11, 1970.
