Resurrection X2
What do you get when you cross the television program NYPD Blue with the psycho-thriller Seven? You get a bone-chilling slasher film called Resurrection. The movie, starring Christopher Lambert, of infamous Highlander fame, and Leland Orser (Saving Private Ryan, Very Bad Things) is set in Chicago. Renegade cop, John Prudomme (Lambert) is assigned to a serial murder case. His lack of social skills and short temper have alienated him from the rest of the department, and the only person willing to partner with him is Detective Andrew Hollingworth (Orser).
Six weeks before Easter, the first of six related murders takes place. Each time the perpetrator strikes, he kills a man who is thirty-three years old (the age of Christ when he was crucified) and who has the name of an Apostle. As a souvenir, the psychotic killer takes a different body part (arms, legs, head, and torso) from each victim. Prudomme and Hollingworth deduce from this that he is trying to rebuild the body of Christ in time for Easter.
Detective John Prudhomme, a Cajun transplanted to Chicago, is assigned to investigate the savage murder of a man who has bled to death from a severed arm. A message, "He Is Coming", written in blood on the victim's window is a dark, forboding clue of his task. After two more victims with missing body parts are discovered, Prudhomme realizes he is on the trail of a serial killer who is using the missing body parts to reconstruct the body of Christ...just in time for Easter. As Prudhomme struggles to catch the zealot-murderer, he is haunted by the death of his son, his continued estrangement from his wife, and his wavering faith in God.
There's a new serial killer on the loose who is taking body parts from his victims in an effort to recreate the body of Christ, just in time for Easter Sunday and the Resurrection, and it's up to Prudhomme to stop the fiend before he can finish his macabre creation.
