Ok so I was pleasantly surprised by the depth of intellectual content that existed in this film, “Bent it Like Beckham”. I don’t know, maybe it was because it paralleled so well the issues we are reading this week in the Eitzen book. This movie takes on so many issues all at once and actually does a pretty good job at sustaining a well balanced dialogue on all of them. The movie explores sexuality, ethnicity, athlete deviance, culture, and more.
