There is a shocking number of reviews of the film in the Internet. ... Yet, they do, and although from the premiere of the film over five years have passed, still more reviews are being written. ... Is it the actors play, or the film’s narration? ... Then at the film’s climax we get to know that Kevin is the son of John Milton, the devil himself. His father wants Lomax to commit incest with his sister, beautiful Christabella, to conceive the devil’s baby. Kevin finally kills himself (great scene of the devil’s anger), but not because he felt any remorse to his deeds but because he wants to cheat on Satan. ... The most surprising is the ending of the film. We move back to one of the first scenes of the film, which, as if, has decided what is going to happen to the main hero. ...

There are also some very interesting references to great pieces of film and literature. We can find here elements derived from John Milton’s (what a coincidence that the devil wears this name) “Paradise Lost”, some scenes referring to the Bible, as well as the main plot being a variation of the story told in “Rosemary’s Baby”.
