Movie Outline "Memento"
MEMENTO
Act I. End of the story and the introduction to two main characters and Leonard's condition.
A. Introduction to two main characters Leonard and Teddy (aka John Gammell).
1. Leonard murders Teddy and then takes a polaroid picture of Teddy's dead body.
2. Black and white scene of Leonard in a hotel room trying to remember where he is and how long he has been there.
3. Leonard is in the hotel lobby speaking to the hotel clerk and then comes the introduction of Teddy where Leonard reminds Teddy of his condition.
B. The Shooting of Teddy
1. Leonard and Teddy are walking to the parking garage where Teddy tries to manipulate Leonard in thinking that Teddy's car is Leonard's, but Leonard has a picture of his real car.
2. Leonard and Teddy are driving to an abandon building where Teddy questions him on why they are going there, Leonard replies "I don't remember" in hope of trying to find some answers.
a. Shot of Leonard and Teddy arriving to the abandoned building.
3. Lenny kills Teddy.
C. Leonard's condition and his system.
1. Black and white scene of Leonard explaining the system of Sammy Jankis and how flawed it was in comparison to his own system of memory retention..
2. Leonard is explaining to the clerk how he has no short term memory.
a. Shot of Leonard writing the words "KILL HIM" on the back of a picture.
b. Shot of Leonard loading a gun.
3. Black and white scene of Leonard in the hotel room and going into further detail about his system and then the phone rings.
4. Leonard is in the bathroom washing his hands where he notices tattoos "remember Sammy Jankis" and "The Facts".
