Gradually, one can reflect on the happy feelings when and after viewing the film and regard it as the most harmonious film that one has ever seen. Director Amodheóvar artistically narrates two common, sad stories through his sophisticated mise-en-scènes and bizarrely creates an extraordinarily pleasant movie. Moreover, he continually introduces a variety of arts into this film, including silent cinema, singing, theater plays; these forms of art not only embellish the film, but also successfully convey subtle feelings that are possibly difficult to express and understand. Last but not least, the tempo of the music leads the audience to an exotic world and sometimes gives them an illusion that they are inside the film. What is the flavor of life? Everyone has his or her own idea. When the scriptwriter had decided the lines of this film, the tragic ending was doomed. However, the director provides us with a new approach of tasting hardship.
