“ A view from the bridge ” “ A view from the bridge,” is a play about an ordinary Italian household living in America, who are going to kindly provide shelter for two of their cousins. But unimaginably the man of the house falls for his niece, who he treats like his daughter. Most Italians living in America were immigrants who were after a better life. The statue of liberty was a great monument that represented freedom for those less fortunate. This statue welcomed immigrants from all over the globe. It was a symbol which, made people think that America would have something better to offer. So the cousins thought what exactly thousands of other people did, and embarked on a trip of a lifetime to America. But of course this was illegal, and it is the reason why if they made it safely, they would be called illegal immigrants. The play is based on an Italian family.
