"American History X"
The movie American History X provides an insight to the political and social views of a group that call themselves with supremacist. Although slavery and segregation have been long since abolished racism is still a factor in America today. Crimes of race, religion, political agendas, and sexual preference are as common today as they have ever been if not more.
These radical racial powers such as the white supremacist have been around as along as there has been racial, political, and social differences. The KKK or Klu Klux Klan, a branch of the white supremacist, originated in the backwoods of Tennessee. Their sole purpose is to make sure that white heterosexuals are the most ethnic group. American History X gave examples of these violent and almost terroristic methods of achieving their goals by assaulting and or killing any person conflicting with their own beliefs. One very manipulative, but powerful person often head up these groups. Such is the case in American history x where the character Cameron brainwashes his loyal followers. His only message was white heterosexual is pure and anything different is filth or garbage and should be treated as such.
Desegregation was a huge step for American's in the mid 1960's when governor George Wallace paved the way for desegregation in America by going against his and everyone else's beliefs y allowing black students to attend summer classes at an all white college. So as you can see as early as the 1960's, desegregation was in the works. This movie shows that even today is still thriving today in America.
According to an early 2000 consensus survey, one out of every three murders is a result of race, sexual preference, or religious beliefs. Crimes of this nature are becoming more and more evident as the years go by.
