In reality, people are confronted by different sets of problems with different levels of intensity. In practice as it should, I think people ought to use hybrids of the rational, behavioral, practical and personal approach in solving problems. Each approach has its own strengths and limitations. There's no doubt that one approach can work impressively well in some situations, but not in all situations. Furthermore, some approach may be able to resolve major issues in some problems, but not all the issues. Problems that have short-run orientation might be solved quickly by the behaivioral approach. But what about problems that require the use of methods or procedures that go beyond a person or an organization's rule of thumb? Different problems require different solutions, sometimes a combination of solutions. I believe that by bringing in different aspects from all of the four approaches, an individual can not only make the best decisions but the most realistic, practical, and personally desirable as well.
