The film ‘Alien’ by Ridley Scott was made during a time where computer technology was on the gradual increase, which brought uncertainty to many people on what the future might hold between humanity and technology. In ‘alien’, where technology has advanced to such a degree that we are able travel deep into space and communicate to Earth via ‘mother’ from billions of miles away. And as the years of technology progresses, the thought of these possibilities happening seem almost likely that although the it is exciting, ‘Alien’ depicts its darker side, bringing horror and fear amongst its audience. ... the alien) but also as a whole, where one deals with their own good and evil to which others and even themselves remain oblivious to. ... Ironically, the name of the ship and its background coincides with the 2 main influences in the film; Ash (who persuades everyone to investigate the signal beacon) and ‘Mother’ (the spaceship linked to the company they are working for, to whom they greatly relied on) who seemed as though they are on the crew’s side, but slowly their true colours began to reveal that they have no regards for them whatsoever and their first priority was making money with the alien species and everything else was irrelevant.
