Analyse a sequence of a film using film language and narrative concepts
Introduction
Plot
High octane superstar Nicolas Cage and sexy Angelina Jolie ride an unstoppable wave of speed and adrenaline in this hot, edgy action film. ... These three factors make the film.
Camera Shot 1
Film Sequence
The film sequence I have decided to analyse is called “The Final Chase”. It’s a long scene which lasts for approximately fourteen minutes and leads directly to the penultimate sequence of the film. ... The heat is on as it’s the final car in the film that has to be stolen. ... The analysis will be of the sequence leading up to the part when Memphis and the mustang encounter each other for the first time in the film. ... The music connects the frames and keeps the film running smoothly. ... (Cam Shot3) The background is the city and the lighting is the same as the previous cut which keeps the film keeps flowing. ... A low key, warm light is the main source of light (keeping the same lighting through the frames keeps the sequence flowing, it shows that the film is running in real time, it graphically matches). ... As the light on Memphis is warm you get the impression that he is the good guy and the police are the bad (this is carried out through the film, not once is Memphis shot to look bad even though he is the one breaking the law). ... Film and special features: - Interviews with, Jerry Buckhemer, Nicolas Cage, Angelina Jolie, Film Crew.
