Alice In Wonderland
I enjoyed reading The Adventures of Alice in Wonderland. I really enjoyed the characters because they each had such distinct personalities even though they were all unusual. Sometimes I found it difficult to follow the story line because Lewis Carroll's dialogue is so highly imaginative.
This story could not of taken place in an ordinary setting. The story line was dependant upon this fantastic tree underneath which Alice fell asleep. Wonderland is described in vivid detail. These descriptions add greatly to the story. Little emphasis is placed on the time in which the story takes place and would seem to be almost irrelevant to the story. I felt that the descriptions of both the characters and the setting added immensely to the story.
The characters seem like real but eccentric people. Several of them remind me of people that I know. I was most impressed by the Queen of Hearts. The Cheshire Cat is a fantastic fellow that has the ability to disappear and seems to outsmart the other characters.
The plot seems to flow easily from one incident to another as Alice travels through the underground wonderland. It is easy to follow Alice's progression from incident to incident as she moves through Wonderland. Alice's adventure begins when she falls into a large hole. Her adventures take place as she moves from one section of Wonderland to the next. Every section has its own unique setting, characters, and situations. Alice's journey from falling asleep until she wakes up is the plot.
