Mary Shelly’s novel Frankenstein has lost much of its original meaning because of the modifications made by Hollywood’s writers and directors. Motion picture studios have made little attempt to stay true to the book. Instead, a more gothic tone has been added to make a horror movie. The Romantic traits rooted in the novel cannot be seen in the film version of the literature.
