A Story
It was 4 in the morning in fez. Leila was tossing and turning in bed because it was hot and humid and she was not comfortable in the house. She went to the kitchen to get a glass of water and decided that she had to leave. She hesitated before leaving but then she told herself that the family she was staying with would not care.
It was pretty dark outside, but Leila had such a bad day that she needed to get away. The streets were deserted and you could only hear the crickets.
Leila was admiring the sky as she was walking and all of a sudden, this tall man comes out from the corner of the street. Leila's heart was beating so fast but she tried to calm herself. The man asked Leila what she was doing all alone. She was breathless and told the man that she was taking a walk. Leila realized that she walked to far and asked the man to show her how to go back. It was dark but Leila could see a big scar on the men's face and his big mysterious eyes. That really scared her especially when he tried to get close to her. Leila went behind him; she could feel her hands sweating and her heart beating. The streets were very dark. Leila asked the man where they were and he kept telling her that she was going to be happy. He stopped walking and told Leila that she belonged to him. Leila started having images of death. She told him to stop but the man's face turned into steel and he got angrier. Leila bit his arm and started running as fast as she could. The man kept running after her but she was able to hide under the merchants' tables. She put her hands over her mouth because all she wanted to do was scream. Morning came and Leila lost her fear. Once again, the sun a long time friend was there to rescue her.
