Abortion

Abortion, one of the most controversial issues of the late 20th century, has given way many arguments about the rights of an unborn child. In the United States, the debate over abortion has led to legal battles in court, in the Congress of the United States, and state legislatures. Swayed by all the different points of views, one must consider who has the right to determine an abortion. Many people believe that the rights belong to the woman carrying the fetus, who can decide whether or not to go through with the full pregnancy. Others say that the fetus is a human being from the time of conception. This means that the fetus has the legal right to life form the moment the egg and sperm unite. What's true is that the woman should not have the right to decide to have an abortion. If a woman gets pregnant it is most likely her fault, and must take responsibility for her baby. The fetus should not have to suffer because of the mother's decisions. Abortion should not be considered at all; the only reason abortion should be acceptable is if the baby has a life threatening disease, or a condition that would make it suffer, or if the mother's life is in danger. Abortion should not be take as a light subject, for it is the life sentence of a baby. Troy has many encounter with Death through the play. He refers to Death as a fast ball in the outside corner. He is very experienced with fast balls and is not a big deal to him. He knows how to take care of them. "You can kiss it goodbye."(10). Death does get him later in the play though. After Troy kicks Cory out, he has one last encounter with Death; one in which Death wins.
Baseball imagery symbolizes many things in the play. It has also affected Troy in how he lives his life and treats other people. Even, the play itself is structured like a baseball game. The play contains 9 scenes which correlates with 9 innings in a baseball game. Many of the things baseball symbolized did not help Troy....
