A True Survivor Things are not always what they appear, something may look small and harmless, yet pack a big punch and vice versa. Even the most fragile of creatures have a way of fighting to be able to survive in their environment. In “A Worn Path” by Eudora Welty, we see such an example. Phoenix Jackson is small and elderly, but with world experience she knows what she needs to survive in a dangerous place. Phoenix Jackson is a woman who can keep her own and knows how to handle a tough situation. During a trip to the pharmacy Phoenix encounters a hunter who is out for a kill. Though he is much bigger and stronger than Phoenix, she doesn’t show any sign of fear.
