A Real Gimmick

The American University in Cairo was established in the early twentieth century in 1919. Since that year, it has been providing exceptional, prestigious, and outstanding education in Egypt. Its high quality education promoted it to be the most successful educational institute in Egypt. Because of that, it has been gaining a regional reputation within the Middle East. As it is an American Institution in the Egyptian territories, it had to follow regulations and laws of both countries. Moreover, AUC has been seen to be the most appropriate college in which foreigners who want to come to Egypt or whose circumstances brought them to stay in Egypt can attend as it offers high education in English in an Arabic country like Egypt. As a result, AUC has a variety of different nationalities attending every day classes on its campuses. Different cultures meet daily in such small place to draw a picture of unity and rally, exactly like an artist who combines his wide variety of colors in a paper to interpret a situation he would like to see. Yet, the colors of the painter could be arranged in such a way that could interfere with one another and then destroy the whole picture. Transferring this example to our subject, conflicts, disagreements, or discrimination could occur from time to another among students, staff, faculty, or even vendors on campus. "The American University in Cairo is committed to an environment of zero tolerance of discrimination." (Equal). As a consequence, discrimination on the basis of creed, race, sex, religion, or skin is completely banned.
