Before presenting his argument on how species originated, Darwin carefully defines Natural selection, the process by which they evolve. Darwin says that there are many strange peculiarities our domestic productions that vary; and with strong hereditary tendency, this whole organization would in some way become plastic (The World of Ideas, Natural Selection, 438).
