... Each yeah the board of education increases the standards for graduation, which makes it harder, and harder for students to move on to an institution of higher learning. In 1999 the requirements for graduation was as follows: four years of English, four years of social studies, two years of science, two years of math, two years of physical education, one year of art or music, one year of foreign language, a semester of health, and a semester of keyboarding.
