Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas is an interesting book which I enjoyed reading. I like the fact that Duke’s views and experiences in Las Vegas are mostly shaped by drugs. This aspect appeals to me because I like the way Thompson describes what is happening through Duke’s eyes. His details are very well defined and give me a good mental picture. The story takes place in one of the craziest cities in the world, Las Vegas, Nevada. Throughout the book Duke and his friend Dr. Gonzo stay in two different hotel/casinos, the Mint and the Flamingo. They spend a lot of their time in their room, at the bar, and in various casinos. The main character, Hunter S.
