As I read the essays they made me realize what kind of schools I attended from kindergarten through high school. ... Anyon told it exactly how it was as she described her observations in every social class schools. She also helped me become conscious of how and why I’ve been robbed from a much higher education just because of my social class.
First of all, it’s kind of embarrassing to say that Anyon colored a vivid image of everything that my school education had been. ... Now I think and realize that maybe I could have been writing this paper with little or no difficulty at all, or maybe I could have been attending a top university in the country with the work discipline I could have gained if only I had been in a higher social class. ... The worst thing about this is that neither the parents, students or the department of education seem to care enough as long as they are comfortable getting their money and students and parents are happy with those little cheap diplomas that say that you have completed high school.
