First Knigh

First Knight What is the role of a knight? Before the 14th century kings would only knight men that were of noble birth, but as time passed knighthood was conferred on civilians as a reward for a public service. As in the movie First Knight, Launcelot was knighted only after doing a good deed for Lady Gwenevere. The duty of a knight was to follow the code of chivalry as well as being loyal to the king and his country. A knight was known for his unwavering commitment to the king, the towns’ people, and any defenseless person.
