101 Laps

101 Laps I am not an athlete by nature or design. I have never won a trophy or a medal. In fact, I didn’t even earn a ribbon on Field Day in the seventh grade. My idea of a strenuous exercise was getting off of the couch to find the remote. So, at the age of twelve, I promised myself in December that when June rolled around I would swim one hundred laps in my father’s swimming pool. The months between December and June flew by and before I knew it I was faced with another one of my promises to myself.
