In his 1949 Nobel Prize acceptance speech, William Faulkner dared to be bold by introducing his own set of literary standards. Faulkner, or as he claimed, used the moment as a “pinnacle” in which he could allow himself to be heard by young authors who had also shared the same experiences in writing literature.
