In all the work of art in the Metropolitan Museum of Art I have chosen two work of art that has interested me most, the first work of art is from the ancient Greek period which is the Marble capital and finial in the form of a sphinx. The other work of art is from the ancient Near East period, which is the Head of a king probably Shapur II. Both work of arts have their similarity and differences in terms of there appearances, they both are unique and they both have a story behind them. The two sculptures have more differences than similarity between them, but they do show some types of similarity behind them. The first work of art I have chosen is the marble capital and finial in the form of a sphinx, this work of art is a sculpture of a female in a lion?s body. This sculpture is made out of marble, and what is different about this sculpture is that this sphinx has wings on it's body.
