One mnemonic that was taught to me and that I will definitely teach to my students is the acronym “b.e.d.m.a.s.”. The letters in the acronym represent the proper order of operations that a student would use when solving a math equation. When more than one operation must be done to solve an equation a certain order must be followed and that order is as follows: any operation that is within brackets must be solved initially.
