Analysis Of An Unproductive Relationsgip
Many people come across unproductive relationships everyday, but whoever takes the time to analyze it? That is what I am about to do. I know these two people, who have been good friends with me for two years. We will call them Stewart and Judy. Both of whom I graduated high school with. Judy is my roommate and of course Stewart is her boyfriend.
Although I enjoy being around both Stewart and Judy, it just amazes me how unproductive their relationship really is. Stewart and Judy have been dating for almost ten months now. They are always together, which is perfectly fine. Since Judy decided to come to West Virginia University, Stewart had to come also. But there was one problem; he did not have the requirements to apply. So, he applies to Fairmont and gets accepted. But instead of staying in the dorms at Fairmont, he gets an apartment in Morgantown right across the street from the dorm Judy and I are staying in. They say it is love, but I think it is desperation and Judy's insatiable need for attention and affection.
Furthermore, while it is alright to spend a lot of time with your significant other, do not think that he or she is the only person in the world. Judy seems to think that Stewart is the only person in her life. She has stopped going out with her friends for the most part and has let her schoolwork fail. But she is not getting anything out of the relationship. She never seems happy, but she does not want to end the relationship because she is afraid of not having anything else. Stewart is something to hold onto whenever times get bad.
Stewart on the other hand, knows that the relationship is unproductive but he does nothing about it. He is kept on a two foot leash, and I know he is unhappy. For example, from mine and Judy's dorm room window, we can see Stewart's bedroom. Judy bought binoculars so she could peer into Stewart's room whenever she pleased.
