Sigmund Freud was born May 6, 1856 in a small town called Freiberg in Moravia. He was a bright child always the head of his class. He went to medical school which was then one of the few options for bright Jewish boy like himself. It was there that he became involved in research under the direction of a physiology professor named Ernst Brucke.
