He indeed does have a message to tell Hamlet. The former king tells Hamlet that his death was not accidental but that he was poisoned by his brother Claudius. ... But instead of killing Gertrude Hamlet is to let heaven decide what should happen to her. Hamlet is grief- stricken with this knowledge. Hamlet wanders about for days not sure how to carry out this deed.
