There has been a steady decline because of many factors but mostly because the campaigns today do not interest the voter. There is not much personal interaction with the voter as there once was, and the campaigns must find other ways to reach out to voters. ... With the most recent campaign costing nearly 3 billion dollars one would think that this is an outrageous amount and that the recent campaigns have turned into spending wars. ... By increasing spending on political campaigns we will be able to turn around the declining voter turnout. ... If the money could be spent to make campaigns more socially stimulating, the people would vote. ... The truth is that the campaigns need to spend their money to reach out to voter better. ... Campaigns need to get back the attention of American voters, we need more democracy, more education of the voters, and more participation of the people.
