This quote from Albert Einstein, gives a chilling example of how even when the smoke has cleared, and the last bullet has been shot, civilization feels the impact of war for generations to come. Throughout our history as a people, war has and will continue to be, the dominating factor of our societies way of life. ... The tragedies of war cause emotional scars not only to the men and women who fought on the battle fields, but to their families and the neighborhoods and society they live in. The everlasting effects that war has on a countries people is forever scaring. From the World Wars, to the American Civil War, our beliefs and morals have a way of changing when tragedy strikes not only the typical soldier, but also the families and society that we live in. ... Solders are trained to eat, breath, and sleep war. But what does a soldier do when the war is over. ... So when the public saw that winning the war in Vietnam wasnt going to be easy, people began to ask why we were even there. Slowly the public turned on the thought of war against Vietnam. ... The soldiers left one war and ended up in another. ... Some soldiers come back to nothing, maybe they had no wife or kids, or their girlfriend didnt feel like waiting until the war was over. ... The emotional scars of war are for ever. My father was a Vietnam veteran before he died, and there were things that he still couldnt talk about when it came to the war. ... Because of this many veterans of every war to date suffer from some type of mental illness. Some are afraid to go outside because of the fear of being killed, while others feel as if they are still in war, and are become dangers to our societies. After a war is all said and done, most of the casualties of war arent the men who died, but the men how survived the war, and failed life after it. One of the most overlooked aspects of war is the emotional stress which is put on the families of the veterans. Unlike the soldiers who partook in months to years of training, the typical family is forced to adjust to the changes that occur with war, or no longer exist as a family structure. ... The American Civil War, Vietnam, and other revolutionary countries who fight for change all have had major impacts on families. The most bloody and family altering war in American History was the American Civil War. The Civil War pitted both brother versus brother, and father versus son.
