The Power of Women of more specifically the power women hold over men is the theme we delve into in the Smith article. Let me state that I am truly not sure where the article went in the sense that while Smith gave many example to back here “theroy” I simply donot understand it’s revalnce to medieval art and society. She starts off simply enough with a few broad examples of the Power of women topos, the most prominet is the Mounted Aristole image. Essentially Aristole is to made to look the fool after he scold his pupil Alexander about to his own weakness for the fairer sex, only to be mounted by said fairer sex due to his own carnal desires. Before she jumps into the many depiction of this scence she also makes mention of what can only be called the utimate power of women narritive, Adam taking the fruit from Eve.
