When tryouts for the Paul Kane volleyball teams commenced on the first Wednesday of the new school year, my high school volleyball career unofficially began. Tryouts took their toll on my nerves, every time I walked into the gym for a tryout I felt a variety of emotions that ranged from anticipation and excitement to apprehension and anxiety. It was not until we began offensive orientated drills, specifically hitting that I began to relax.
