Greed of Big Business and Big Government

Corruption of business has existed for years. The question here is how far can corruption in business be traced back to? Why is it that business leaders haven’t learned anything from their mistakes or those made by past leaders? Is it really Greed that has affected these people and led them to the corruption of big business? “The turn of the 19th century was a period of considerable debate in the United States over how big business should be controlled, owned and managed” ( Big Business and the Muck-Rakers). ... This man had so much power that he rescued the bankrupt US government several times, but it was the consequences of that action that were to question. ... They believed that by having a group of people control a business that it “allowed big businesses to exploit economies of scale” and to ignore using competition against other businesses. By doing so, the results will always include greed (Big Business and the Muck-Rakers). ... The enormous amount of money in their hands, has made these people live full of greed. ... Since 1994 the government has passed on several acts to allow the government to regulate the stock market. ... This act made it difficult for shareholders to sue corporations, allowing the government to make claims about future earrings. Two ways that capitalism is controlled is by government regulation and through the court system.
