hibernia's ploy

The spring, 2002 edition of La Louisiane displays Hibernia’s advertisement using many techniques to make the customer want to trust them with their money. Throughout the ad, Hibernia has many hidden subtle messages in order to lure the reader to their business. Their pitch installs confidence and stimulates the desire to have a better life. Hibernia guides the consumer to believe that investing leads to a worry free future. There are many eye catching qualities that are employed in this ad. The first thing that stands out is the header at the top of the page with the words “You posses a wealth of knowledge. Why not profit from it?” This implies that the reader is very intelligent and should take advantage of that attribute. The header is dark forest green, in contrast to the white lettering and, is very noticeable upon first glance. The multi-shade color scheme is green and it fades from dark to light; top to bottom.
