Homelessness
To feed the homeless or to employ the homeless; that is the question! There are many men and women that claim to be homeless, when in reality; they are only homeless because they are too lazy to get a real job. Time and again, you will see a homeless person at the corner of some fast-food restaurant or strip mall asking for money. Should we give them the money or not? In some ways, it is good to give them money because they will be able to buy life necessities. The other side of that is that they may use the money on drugs or other bad habits because they feel their life is worthless. There are many other arguments for and against this issue; it is up to the person involved in the situation to decide whether to give out their hard-earned money or not. To begin with, people who claim to be homeless should get a job and not beg for money. These people sit around each day and have been known to make hundreds of dollars from naive people who are willing to hand out their money. Sitting all day on the corner asking for money while being dressed in ragged clothes with matted hair can’t be fulfilling. Why can’t they get a job, receive more money for what they are doing and be able to support their own habits? It is because they don’t have to get a job when other people are just handing them money. It is called laziness. On the other hand, they are smart, because on some days they can receive hundreds of dollars by sitting on their rears and doing nothing. My dad once said, “I would like to try to sit around one day like a bum and see how much money I can make.” It might be interesting to take a day, dress like a homeless person, and beg for money. Would it be worth the time and feeling like scum? A person would never know unless they tried it.
