Many people today do not believe that they should have to pay for something that they were not even involved in long ago, but the fact is African Americans were promised by the US Government some type of reparation for slavery and it was never received by slaves. I believe that the ancestors of former slaves should receive money for their family members going through this period of time. ... In this case many left nothing behind because they had nothing, they were all poor during slavery. Therefore the families should get the reparations out of respect for former slaves.
Slavery begun around 1619 and finally came to an end around 1865. ... Is because if you don’t believe that reparation is fair because these people were not alive when it happened, then don’t say that scholarships and funding for education is ration.
