I AM A MAN MORE SINNED AGAINST THAN SINNING Lear
King Lear was a man more sinned against that sinning. His mistake of banishing his youngest daughter Cordelia who loved him the mast and then rewarding his other two daughters (Regan and Goneril who didn’t love him at all) his praise was more than matched with sins and acts against him. ... The first signs of sin that foreshadow more to come happen after Lear gave his two eldest daughters their land. Soon after the two evil sisters receive what they wanted they started to plot against Lear. ... After having his land and power turned over to his daughters, Lear was powerless. ... Goneril started her treatment; she cut Lear’s army in half and then in half again, saying that he didn’t need that many men. This was just the start of how everything was gradually taken away from Lear. Goneril then ordered her servant, Oswald, to ignore Lear and disobey him in hopes that maybe Lear would get fed up with the treatment and leave her house.
