Rabbit Essay

On December 11, 2001 I visited the acclaimed Los Angeles County Museum of Art. I arrived at 11:40 am in the hopes that I would find a piece of art that would move me. I was lucky on this day. Not only was I in time for the Luca Giordano exibit, but I came on a free day which meant that I didn’t have to pay the five dollars that I was told I would have to pay. At about 12:30 I was a little worried. I still hadn’t found a piece that I would want to write about. I’d gone through the Giordano display without any luck. Not to discount Giordano’s talent, but his work didn’t move me in the least. Although his work is indeed beautiful, it left me feeling more frustrated than anything. The Japanese art wing didn’t do much to help me either. I have always been a fan of Asian art. But amongst the prints, and screens, the pottery and silks, I found nothing again that I wanted to take with me.
