amadeus
This play, originally written by Peter Shaffer, is a well known tragedy-comedy. This play takes place in the city of Vienna, where the court composer is Antonio Salieri. His main interest in life is music, and he eventually wishes to become a famous composer. He prays to God every night that God may grant him more musical abilities, in return he promises God music for the rest of his life. At first he is a very successful and popular composer and easily the most famous in Italy, that is until Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, arrives on the scene.
