Today, the clear majority state that they believe there should be a system of term limits restricting the length of time a Congressperson can be in office. ... From the Founders to today, this is the root of thedebate to impose term limits. Those in favor of term limits base their argument on the premise that term limits will lessen the length of time in which a person could and would be corrupted.
