Ideological and religious conflicts impact the lives of individuals because we are all different in our beliefs and our customs. When we’re all placed together in a large melting pot, our differences become apparent and cause conflict among groups. I believe that our future holds a lot of conflict as the United States struggles to become a more diverse country. Since the beginning of time, people of all walks of life have been very narrow minded and unaccepting of other’s cultures and religious beliefs. Religious wars have been an ongoing situation in the Middle East and I don’t see any demise in these wars in the near future. A prime example of an individual who had different ideologies was Kip in the English Patient. Kip was an Indian man who was skilled at defusing bombs for the army during World War II. He carried typical traits that were normal to him and his culture, but different for Hana and Caravaggio. For example, he would appear at the same time everyday for arranged meals, and would pull out the same blue handkerchief at each meal which contained onions and herbs.
